Dig-it Landscaping’s approach is to do extraordinary work for a reasonable price. Our designer, installers and maintainers all work from the same standard. “Do it right the first time; structurally, aesthetically, and in a timely manner.” By doing this, we are “setting a new standard in the landscaping industry.” We will consistently use top quality materials and highly trained personnel to provide customers a finished product that leaves us no doubt that they would refer Dig-It Landscaping to their closest friends.
Company History
Established in Bellbrook, OH in 2004 Dig-It Landscaping was a dream for owner Collin Sparks. He had a vision of starting a company at 15. Collin began his career with just a pick-up truck and tools, with hard work, passion, and excellent education his dream became reality. Collin spent two years at Greene County Career Center in Landscape Management and Design program that kindled his passion for the business. During 2004, Collin gained practical experience with employment at Tom’s Mulch and excellent access to the owner learning many of the aspects of running a landscaping business. Concurrently, his company continued to grow in size, capability and popularity. Seeing the demand for complete landscape design, installation, and maintenance, he decided Ohio State University’s Associate’s Degree in Landscape Construction and Contracting would provide that next level of education needed to build a strong company. The opportunity to intern at a local landscape company, Lewis Lawn & Landscaping of Bellbrook provided Collin another inside view of company operations. Specifically, employee relations, project estimating and project execution along with nursery management. After this degree in 2006 the company began to grow rapidly.
While attending Ohio State Universtiy, Collin observed and corresponded with a company through the internet that had achieved a status he wanted reach for Dig-It. Earth, Turf and Wood, owned by Jarod Hynson of Denver, Pennsylvania had within 5 years established a high-end landscape company with 7 long-term employees and $2 M in annual sales, which he has since doubled in the past 3 years. Jarod’s reputation as a high-end landscape company was established by solid business practices of well trained employees, new and well maintained equipment, attention to customer desires in the design and execution of a project, networking with a local patio supply company, plus the importance of high quality materials. Jarod has freely offered advice and counsel to Collin and as a result been his model for growth, expansion and business approach. It was during this time that Collin investigated the quality, innovation and technological edge of the Unilock Paver Company with a factory in Rittman, Ohio, which has become the primary material Dig-It used for hardscapes.
Backed with a solid education, high quality material suppliers and top notch equipment, this company has done a wide range of projects since 2006 from basic residential improvements, to medium sided commercial, to a complete high-end housing development. Dig-It Landscaping reputation as a leading hardscape installer has allowed for expanded service which starts with design, execute installation and remain vigilant of the maintenance needs of our customers. We have continued to expanded services to irrigation, lighting, outdoor kitchens, ponds and waterfalls. Off season opportunities of snow and ice management just help capitalize on personnel and equipment. Maintaining a high level of quality has remained a key feature of the business with highly trained employees and attention to detail. We are known for satisfying our customers with this quality by using only the best materials, new equipment and qualified personnel.
